Elkhorn Relay
The Elkhorn Relay is a six-person team relay around La Grande, Oregon, covering 80.6 miles on a point-to-point course organized by Run With Purpose Racing. The route begins at Hilgard Junction State Park and follows old Highway 244 along the Grande Ronde River before leaving the river for a series of climbs into backcountry terrain.
A 20-plus mile section of the course runs on gravel mountain roads. Runners gain about 6,000 feet in elevation overall and ascend the backside of Anthony Lakes to an altitude near 7,400 feet. The course includes a final trail leg that finishes at the ski resort.
The event provides defined registration periods and fees:
- Early registration: November 21, 2025 to January 31, 2026 : $500
- Regular registration: February 1, 2026 to May 31, 2026 : $550
- Late registration: June 1, 2026 to July 11, 2026 : $600
