Elephant Trail Race
The Elephant Trail Race is a trail running event held in Port Macquarie, New South Wales. The event takes place over three days from 17-19 July 2026. The 2026 edition features a theme inspired by old-school running clubs from the 1970s and 1980s.
The event offers ten different distances to accommodate various participation levels:
- 217 km
- 160 km
- 100 km Solo
- 100 km Staged (3 days)
- 75 km Staged (2 days)
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 13 km
- 5 km
- 2.5 km Kids Race
All participants, except those in the kids race, must undergo a mandatory gear check before receiving their race pack. Specific items must be carried on the course throughout the race. For the 217 km, 160 km, and 100 km distances, additional time-dependent gear may be required at the race hub.
Course finishers receive recognition based on their distance. Those completing the 217 km, 160 km, 100 km Solo, and 100 km Staged races receive a buckle. Large medals are awarded to finishers of the 75 km, 50 km, and 25 km races, while small medals are provided for the 13 km, 5 km, and 2.5 km events.
Participants in the longer distances (217 km, 160 km, 100 km, 100 km staged, and 75 km staged) Have the option to book transition tent sites at the race hub to set up chairs, tables, or support crew equipment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
