The Elephant Trail Race is a multi-distance trail running event held in Port Macquarie over three days. The program offers ten distance options:
- 217 km
- 160 km
- 100 km
- 100 km staged (3 day)
- 75 km staged (2 day)
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 13 km
- 5 km
- 2.5 km kids race
Entry pricing is tiered by date. Early bird entries run 1 August to 31 December 2025 and include a free shirt for distances from 25 km to 217 km. Standard entries run 1 January to 31 May 2026. Late entries run 1 June to 15 July 2026, with a check-in late entry period 16 to 19 July 2026. Example early bird fees begin at $65 for 13 km and $525 for 217 km; standard and late fees are higher. Pacer fees are published and remain consistent across entry periods: Pacer 50 km $110 and Pacer 25 km $70.
All competitors except 2.5 km kids must pass a mandatory gear check before receiving race packs. Gear must be carried on course; some items are time dependent or weather dependent. Drop bags are left at the race hub and must be collected before 3pm Sunday. Finish awards vary by distance: buckles for certain ultra distances and medals for shorter distances.
