East Texas Ultra : Mineola Nature Preserve
The East Texas Ultra is a looped trail event held at Mineola Nature Preserve in Mineola, Texas (1860 Co Rd 2724). The event offers multiple distances over a roughly 4.5-mile loop that begins and ends at the preserve pavilion. The course runs on a mix of gravel, dirt, and pavement across Navajo, Greer Hill, Sendera, and Rawhide trails. Each loop has about 200 feet of elevation gain.
Distances:
- 50K : seven loops
- 28K : four loops
- 14K : two loops
- 7K : one loop
- 7K RUCK : one loop with additional weight requirement
This is a cupless race with water refill stations and aid offerings. The main aid station sits at the start/finish (mile 0 and mile 4.5) and a water station is located near mile 2.2. Aid stations provide hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. A water carrying system is required for all events except the 7K; 16 ounce minimum hydration is recommended. The 7K RUCK requires a minimum 25 pound ruck and a 16 ounce minimum for hydration.
Finisher items and awards include an event T-shirt, collectible finisher medals, a ruck patch for ruck finishers, first place awards for each distance, 50K inscription on medals, and a DFL award for last place.
