The East Texas Ultra is a trail running and rucking event at the Mineola Nature Preserve in Mineola, TX. It offers multiple distances over a looped course on piney trails:
- 50K
- 28K
- 14K
- 7K
- 7K RUCK
Each distance consists of a set number of loops: the 50K is seven loops, the 28K is four loops, the 14K is two loops, and the 7K is one loop. The route runs through tall pine forest and marked trails inside the preserve. The event is cupless; water refill stations are provided for participants to refill personal bottles or cups. Participants are asked to follow trail etiquette and not to litter.
Event logistics include packet pickup on Friday evening and bib pickup on Saturday morning. Registration closes on May 8 at 11:59 PM CT. The event is part of the Texas Ultra Series; finisher medals from series races combine to form the outline of Texas, and completing all series races qualifies for a special wooden case for those medals. The top seven male and top seven female finishers who run the farthest distance at a Texas Ultra race qualify for the Big Texas Ultra 100K Championship near Austin.
Finishers receive an East Texas Ultra T-shirt, collectible finisher medals, and distance-specific inscriptions or patches; first-place awards and other placement awards are given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
