East Texas Ultra - Mineola Nature Preserve

East Texas Ultra is a trail running event scheduled for May 15, 2027 at Mineola Nature Preserve in Mineola, Texas (1860 Co Rd 2724). The event is organized as repeated loops that begin and end at the Mineola Nature Preserve Pavilion.

The course follows a 4.5 mile loop using the Navajo, Greer Hill, Sendera, and Rawhide trails. Surface types include gravel, dirt, and pavement. Each loop has about 200 ft of elevation gain and is described as slightly hilly. Historic average temperatures for the date range from 59 to 80 degrees.

Aid and support: a main aid station is located at mile 0 and mile 4.5, with a water station at mile 2.2. Aid stations provide hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. Drop bags may be placed near the start/finish area. A water carrying system is required for all events except the 7K. The 7K ruck requires a minimum 25 lb carried load and a 16 ounce minimum for hydration.

Additional event details note primitive camping five minutes from the start/finish (sites available for $10 per day) and nearby hotel access about six minutes away. A nighttime trail running event at Tyler State Park with distances from 5K to 50K plus a 13K ruck. Single track dirt trails, aid stations, mandatory headlamp and a nine hour cutoff.

Trail races through dense East Texas pine forest at Tyler State Park, offered in 5k, 10k, 25k and 50k. Single-track, technical trails are marked and supported by aid stations with refill service and basic first aid.

A 24-hour challenge at Tyler State Park where participants run ten 5k loops starting every 2.5 hours. The route runs on dirt trails with rocks and roots, lighting is required and camping at Blackjack serves as race headquarters.

A continuous-loop trail ultra at Tyler State Park on a 3.1-mile loop with fully stocked aid each lap. Runners choose 40 or 50 miles with a 12 hour cutoff and a central staging area for crew and supplies.
