The 2025 DTOS Turkey Chase is a non-chip timed race held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Crooked Smile Trailhead in Durant, OK. The event includes a 5k, a 1 mile Fun Run described as one down-and-back lap on concrete (participants may run additional laps), and a virtual option that can be completed anytime. The course is a new layout that crosses the Dr. Thomas Newsom Bridge and follows the Crooked Smile Trail. This is the 6th annual Durant Turkey Chase, returning after a multi-year pause related to construction of a nearby equestrian center and bridge completion.

Logistics and beneficiary

Packet pickup is scheduled the morning of the race at the VPAC parking lot; signs will mark the location. In case of rain or severe weather, the alternate plan uses Bloomer Sullivan Gym across the street. Registrations for the 5k and Fun Run close on November 28, 2025; the virtual option registration closes on November 29, 2025. Registrants who register by November 14 are guaranteed a T-shirt.

Proceeds benefit Durant Trails and Open Space, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on establishing, protecting, and maintaining trails, river restoration, and wildlife habitat in Durant and Bryan County.
