Delaware Trail Fest : event details
Delaware Trail Fest is a trail running event held at Lums Pond State Park in Bear, Delaware. The event uses trails around the lake and is described as largely flat with some rolling sections. The course surface is approximately 70% single track, 10% gravel and 20% wider trails. The event is fully age graded using a formula that compares times across ages and genders. Timing is chip-based and provided by a timing service; runners must wear bibs on the front and avoid folding the bib to protect the chip. Bib and swag pickup is on race day only. Registration closes on Mon, Oct 13. Refunds are available up to 30 days before the event; refunds equal the entry fee minus $10 and no refunds or deferrals are allowed within 30 days of the race.
Distances and race logistics
- 12 Hour Lone Wolf - run as many approx 7.5 mile laps as possible in 12 hours
- 12 Hour 4 Person Relay - team run as many laps as possible in 12 hours, one runner at a time
- 24 KM - two laps around the lake
- 12 KM - one lap around the lake
All distances are described as hiker friendly. Aid stations are spaced about 3 to 4 miles apart, with a main aid station at the start/finish and a second station near mile 4; water and Gatorade will be available. Runners receive a custom finisher medal; special awards are planned for top finishers in several events. Headlamps are required for the final loop when needed.
