Delaware Trail Fest
Delaware Trail Fest is a trail running event at Lums Pond State Park in Bear, Delaware. The event features timed 12 hour formats and shorter lake laps around Lums Pond. Results are age graded using a formula that adjusts for age and gender.
Distances offered:
- 12 Hour Lone Wolf: as many laps as possible; lap approx 7.35 miles.
- 12 Hour 4 Person Relay: as many laps as possible as a team, alternating runners.
- 24KM: two laps around the lake.
- 12KM: one lap around the lake.
The course is approximately 70 percent single track, 10 percent gravel and 20 percent wider trails. The route has little elevation with mostly flat sections and a few rolling trails. Small adjustments to the course may be made to avoid wet sections.
Aid stations are spaced about 3 to 4 miles apart, with a main aid station at the start/finish and a second station around mile 4. Water, Gatorade and basic trail foods are provided; runners who rely on specific gels should bring their own. All distances are described as hiker friendly.
The event is chip timed. Bibs must be visible on the front and should not be folded. Bib and swag pickup occurs on race day only. Refunds are allowed up to 30 days before the event with a fee of ten dollars withheld; no refunds or deferrals within 30 days.
