The 12-hour formats ask runners or teams to complete as many laps as possible within a 12 hour time limit; one lap is approximately 7.35 miles. The 24 KM event is two laps around the lake and the 12 KM event is one lap. Relay teams must have only one runner on course at a time and alternate.

Course and race logistics

The course surface is about 70% single track, 10% gravel and 20% wider trails, with little elevation and some rolling sections. Aid stations are spaced about 3 to 4 miles apart; the main aid station is at the start/finish and a second aid station is at mile 4. Water and Gatorade will be available and additional food and carbohydrates will be provided; runners who use gels are advised to bring their own. The race is chip-timed; bibs must be worn on the front and not folded. A headlamp is required for the final loop.
