Both races start and finish at the west end of Titus Canyon where it intersects Scotty's Castle Road. The half marathon runs into the canyon to an aid station at approximately mile 6.5 and returns to the finish. The marathon continues past that aid station to an approximate mile 8 turnaround, returns to the aid station at the entrance to Titus Canyon (mile 13), proceeds to a mile 18 turnaround, and then returns to the finish.
The course follows a single dirt road through Titus Canyon and does not require additional markings. Marathon aid stations are located at about miles 3, 6.5, 9.5, 12, 15.5, and 18; half marathon aid stations are at about miles 3, 6.5, and 10. Aid stations provide water, lemonade, sports bars, and a variety of snacks. Energy gels are not provided; runners should carry preferred nutrition and dispose of wrappers only at aid stations. No private support is allowed along the trail.
Portable toilets are available at the start/finish and at multiple locations along the course. The event is limited to 200 total participants by National Park Service rules. Registrations are non-refundable; if the race is cancelled a credit toward a future race is available. Headphones and earbuds are not permitted for safety. Transport includes parking at the Ranch at Furnace Creek and shuttle buses between Furnace Creek Ranch and the race start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
