The event is the 37th annual Death Valley Trail races, held on December 6, 2025 in Death Valley National Park, Inyo County, California. Distances offered:

Registrations are limited to 200 total participants due to National Park Service rules. Registrations are 100% non-refundable; if the event is cancelled a credit toward a future race will be issued. T-shirts are provided to all participants. Finisher medals are awarded to marathon and half marathon finishers. Age-group awards include personalized plaques for first place and ribbons for first through third place in each age group for all distances.
Course and logistics
The course runs on the single dirt Westside Road in the Badwater Basin area. The half marathon is a single out-and-back; the marathon covers the same route twice. The turnaround is within a few miles of the lowest point in North America at -282 feet; the lowest point on the course is -265 feet. Runners will see Telescope Peak (11,043 feet) from the route and return facing the Artist's Palette.
The course cut-off time is 6 hours (13:45 min/mile pace for marathoners; 27:30 min/mile pace for half marathoners). Aid stations and portable toilets are at approximately miles 3, 6.5, 10, 13, 16, 19.5, and 23 on the marathon course; they provide water, lemonade, sports bars, and snacks. Energy gels are not supplied and private support along the trail is not allowed. Parking is available at the Ranch at Furnace Creek. Buses will shuttle participants between Furnace Creek Ranch and the race start; return buses run as needed. Headphones and earbuds are not allowed because the road is open to vehicle traffic.
