Dawg Gone Long Run 50k/50 Miler
The event is a trail ultramarathon held at Caesar Creek State Park near the Visitor Center, 4020 N. Clarksville Road, Waynesville, OH. It is Trail Sisters approved and offers two distances.
- 50 Miles : three counterclockwise loops with a slight variation at the end of each loop.
- 50K : two counterclockwise loops.
Each loop uses the Perimeter (Yellow) Trail plus the Cove (Red), Peninsula (Green), and Fifty Springs (Orange) Trail. Terrain is mostly single-track with frequent rollers and a largest hill of about 80 feet of elevation; cumulative elevation changes are substantial.
The race operates as cupless; there will be no disposable cups at any aid stations. A collapsible cup is available for purchase for $4. Two manned aid stations are located at the Visitor Center (start/finish) and the Buckeye Way Shelter on the Fifty Springs loop. Unmanned stations visited periodically will offer water. Manned stations will provide water, Skratch, hummus avocado wraps, pickles and pickle juice, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pretzels, chips, fresh fruit, and other items. Drop bags are permitted only at the Visitor Center aid station.
Cutoffs are enforced with an overall cutoff of 14.5 hours for both events. Race staff will sweep the course later in the day. Participants are asked to carry any trash to the next aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
