Dawg Gone Long Run 50k/50 Miler at Caesar Creek State Park

The Dawg Gone Long Run is scheduled for July 11, 2026 at Caesar Creek State Park, Visitor Center, 4020 N. Clarksville Road, Waynesville OH 45068-9408. The event offers the following distances:

  • 50 Mile Ultra
  • 50k Ultra

Both events use a looped single-track course around Caesar Creek lake south of SR 73. Each loop combines the Perimeter (Yellow) Trail, the Cove (Red) Trail, the Peninsula (Green) Trail, and the Fifty Springs Loop (Orange) Trail. The largest hill on the course is about 80 feet, and the route features frequent rollers. The 50-mile field runs the loop three times counterclockwise with a slight end-of-loop variation; the 50k runs the loop twice counterclockwise.

Aid and support include two manned aid stations at the Visitor Center and the Buckeye Way Shelter on the Fifty Springs loop. Several unmanned stations with water will be visited about every 30 minutes. This is a cupless race: no cups will be available at any aid station. Participants are expected to carry a reusable cup and a water bottle or hydration pack; a collapsible cup is available for purchase for $4. Drop bags are allowed only at the Visitor Center aid station.

Packet pickup is available the evening before on July 10 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the Visitor Center shelter, and race-morning pickup begins at 5:15 AM. Cutoffs of 14.5 hours apply to both events. Participants may switch from the 50 mile to the 50k at the end of two loops or before the start; the race director or timers must be notified. Course sweeping will begin at 4:30 PM on race day. Participants are asked not to litter and to carry trash to the next aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
