The course follows mostly single track around Caesar Creek Lake, combining the yellow perimeter loop with the red and green trails near Wellman Meadow. A short railing must be climbed to reenter the trail from State Route 73.
There are four aid stations:
- Wellman Meadow: water and Tailwind; manned until all 10K runners pass.
- Fifty Springs: fully stocked with water, Tailwind, and typical ultra nutrition.
- Day Lodge: water, Tailwind, and limited nutrition.
- Start/Finish: fully stocked with water, Tailwind, assorted food, and warm options including vegan choices.
This is a cupless race; participants must carry a collapsible cup. Mandatory gear includes a headlamp with spare batteries, water bottle or bladder, collapsible cup, and a fully charged cell phone. Additional winter gear such as a mylar blanket and insulated jacket is recommended when cold or wet conditions are possible.
Finishers receive glow in the dark owl medals and registered runners receive event swag. Registrations received by November 20 are guaranteed swag. The race is Trail Sisters approved and offers equal podium spots, equal prize money and awards, women specific swag and menstrual products at aid stations. Time cutoffs are set for safety and will be strictly enforced. There are no refunds; a deferral policy with partial credits is published. Volunteers may earn credit toward future events. Registration ranges from USD 74.75 to 107.68. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
