Elevation gain ranges from 710 feet for the 8K to 4,530 feet for the 50K. Course surfaces include single track, dirt road and asphalt with percentages varying by distance. The course is marked with ribbon approximately every 200 yards and with color coding; polka dot flagging marks required turns and blue ribbons mark incorrect routes.

Aid stations are stocked every 5 to 9 miles and typically provide fresh fruit, salty snacks, candy, water and Skratch electrolyte drink. Runners are advised to carry at least 20 ounces of water between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own fluid container. Some reusable SpeedCup containers are available for purchase at check-in.
