Crazy Mountain 100
The Crazy Mountain 100 is a point to point 100 mile mountain ultramarathon held in the Crazy Mountain Range near Wilsall and Lennep, Montana on July 24, 2026. The route is primarily single track and traverses private ranches, public forest service land, and Indigenous Apsaalooke lands known as Awaxaawippíia.
The course includes about 23,000 feet of vertical gain and reaches elevations near 10,200 feet. Terrain features extreme technical ascents and descents, long sections with no established trail, two track, occasional forest service road, scree fields, steep climbs and drops, jagged cliffs, and high alpine lakes. Organizers describe the route as extremely rugged with significant exposure.
Two family owned cattle ranches host the start and the finish. The start is hosted at the Westling Ranch in Wilsall and the finish at the Berg Ranch near Lennep. Two additional private ranches provide route connections and aid station access, reflecting multi generational land stewardship in the valley.
The event is a qualifier for Hardrock and Western States. Entry is capped at 200 runners. Race entry is listed at $435 and with registration platform fees totals $466.77. Qualifying criteria apply and the race has specific rules and requirements. Registration closes July 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time.
