Coz's Backyard Ultra uses the Backyard Ultra format: runners complete a set loop every hour and must be at the start when the bell rings to continue. The event has a maximum duration of 30 hours; if multiple runners complete all 30 hours, the runner who crosses the line first on the final lap is the winner. Each lap is a 3 1/3 mile loop with about 200 feet of total ascent.
The course runs on non-technical hiking and ski trails through pines and open hardwoods at the Trenton Fish and Game Club, with primarily rolling double track and an out-and-back dirt road section. The venue address is 8001 Wood Rd, Holland Patent, NY 13354.
Organizers provide basic aid items such as water, Mapleaid, fruit, candy, chips, pickles, and coffee, and will supply pizza during the evening. Participants are encouraged to bring their own food and cups to reduce waste and to contribute to a communal aid table if they wish. Registration opens April 13, 2026 and closes May 29, 2026; the stated entry fee is $120.
