Cousin Jack

Cousin Jack comprises two multi terrain trail races along the coastal paths around St Just and St Ives. Both courses run over natural trail surfaces and include varied underfoot conditions and significant climbing.

Distances

  • 18 miles point to point between St Just and St Ives.
  • 35 miles out-and-back from St Ives to Cape Cornwall and back, with 7000+ feet of elevation.

The Classic route follows a section of the coast path and includes muddy fields, rocky headlands, steep paths and boggy ground. A safety cut off is in place at Zennor Head. The Ultra follows a longer loop that extends beyond the Classic section and doubles the distance and ascent.

Starting points are given for each race: the Classic starts at St Just miners chapel and the Ultra starts at St Ives, The Blockhouse. Parking for participants is organised around St Ives Leisure Centre, which is also used to transport runners to the Classic start. Entries for the races close two weeks before the event. Event materials such as a kit list, route information and risk assessments are provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
