Event

The Copper Kings 100 is a 100-mile loop ultramarathon in Butte, Montana, scheduled for June 26-27, 2026. The event is fully inclusive and includes a nonbinary division. Proceeds benefit Our Lady of the Rockies, Mile High Nordic Ski Education Foundation, and the Continental Divide Trail Coalition. The race is permitted by the United States Forest Service, Butte-Silver Bow County, Jefferson County, and the Montana Department of Transportation.

Course and logistics

The loop starts and finishes at the Belmont Mine in Butte and includes 63 miles on the Continental Divide Trail. The course is in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and runs mostly above 6,500 feet elevation. The start elevation is 5,650 ft, the highest point reaches 8,400 ft, and the course has a total of 13,960 feet of vertical gain and loss. Some aid stations are widely spaced, with the longest segment between stations greater than 17 miles. The event uses a 40-hour overall cutoff.

Registration and refunds

Registration opens December 7, 2025, via UltraSignup. The withdrawal policy offers tiered refunds: 75% for cancellations 90+ days before the race, 50% at 60–89 days, 25% at 30–59 days, and no refund less than 30 days before the race. Run 14K along the Continental Divide Trail near Butte Montana, passing rocky formations and sweeping high country vistas. Held near the summer solstice, the CDT 14K supports trail upkeep and local youth running programs.
