The course uses the Coal & Coke Trail system and is run as a 5 mile out and back, creating a 10 mile loop. Each loop has approximately 145 feet of elevation gain and loss. The trail is described as wide open, non-technical double track with crushed gravel and pavement surfaces.

There are two aid stations: one at the start and finish area and one at the 5 mile turnaround. The start and finish aid station will include hot organic food options, packaged organic snacks, water, and Just Ingredients electrolyte mix. The turnaround aid station will provide packaged organic snacks, water, and Just Ingredients electrolyte mix.

Race swag includes an ice bandana, a BALS sticker, a Just Ingredients electrolyte sample, and other small items. All finishers receive an etched pint glass, a handmade medal, and a Coal & Coke 30/10 Miler sticker. Top three men and top three women in the 30 Miler receive custom handmade awards.

Packet pick up is scheduled the day before at Helltown Brewing in Mt Pleasant and on race day at the start area. Pacers are generally not allowed; exceptions can be made by the organizer. The event is scheduled to proceed regardless of most weather conditions; no refunds are offered, though transfers to another runner or to the following year are available.
