The Cateran Trail Ultramarathon takes place on 09 May 2026 and is organised by Rocket Events Ltd. The race is a circular route of 55 miles (about 90 km) with 7,450 ft / 2,250 metres of ascent. Course, rules and logistics

The route starts and finishes at Gulabin Lodge, Spittal of Glenshee, and is approximately 90% off road. Terrain includes forest trails, rough tracks and open hillside, with short sections on quiet country roads. The final section climbs to An Lairig Pass with a view down to the finish at Gulabin Lodge.

The race has a 15 hour overall cut-off. Specific cut points include Blairgowrie (14:30) and Enochdu (20:00); the Enochdu cut is strict and runners will not be allowed onto the open hill section after that time. The event is designed to be self-sufficient with no support crews.

Rules include ID at registration, no transfer of places, no muling, no walking poles, no support runners or bike buddies, and no dogs. Mandatory kit must be carried and will be spot-checked; items listed include a full-size foil blanket, a working mobile phone and a means to carry at least 1 litre of water. The Forfar Multi-Terrain will take place in Forfar on Sunday 1 February 2026. You can run 21 kilometers.

Night hill running around Glenshee ski station on compact piste snow, with 6.5 km and 11.5 km circuit options. Participants must carry winter mountain kit and meet fitness and experience requirements.

Scenic trail runs at Scone Palace with 5 km and 10 km options, chip timing, on-course route maps, and provisions for one controlled dog per runner. Finishers receive a medal, merchandise, and a drink and snack.
