Carnlough Quarry Challenge

The Carnlough Quarry Challenge is a 5K multi terrain race that starts and finishes in the heart of Carnlough village. The route follows a concrete road for under a mile before entering the quarry, where loose limestone paths give way to sustained uphill sections and subsequent descents.

The course includes an out and back section along the Largy Road, coastal viewpoints with potential sightlines to Scotland, and a final descent that passes beneath a limestone bridge before the finish. Surface conditions vary between paved road, loose limestone and open road.

Practical information provided by the organiser notes parking in the village and at the Community Centre. Entries open 15 April and close 24 June; entry fees are listed as Affiliated £15.00 and Non-Affiliated £17.00. Minimum age for participation is 16; under 18s must complete a parental consent form at registration. The organiser is Glenlough Running Club. The event policy states that no transfers or refunds are available and refers entrants to the event terms and cancellation policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
