Cannonball Run - April 9 to 11, 2027
The Cannonball Run is a trail event at Broxton Bridge Plantation in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, organized by Palmetto Ultras and scheduled across April 9 to 11, 2027. The event offers a looped course of 3.3 miles that mixes dirt roads, double-track trails, and well maintained grassy sections, with about 49 feet of elevation gain per loop.
Racing formats include a 34 hour option, a Last Man Standing format, and a youth entry category for runners 14 and under. The Last Man Standing format requires runners to complete each 3.3 mile loop within a 48 minute window; runners receive 5, 2, and 1 minute warnings before each loop, must be back at the start line within the 48 minute limit or they are eliminated, and the final remaining runner completes a solo lap. Eliminated Last Man Standing runners may take credit for miles completed and may join the 34 hour field. Last Man Standing participants have priority for setup near the start corral.
Primitive camping is included for all runners and includes access to a bathhouse with toilets and hot showers; RV sites and two on property bed and breakfast houses are available through Broxton Bridge. One aid station at the start/finish will be stocked with snacks and drinks; runners must carry any supplies needed during the loop. Packet pickup times are to be announced.
Awards and swag include a completion medal for anyone who finishes at least one loop, a buckle for 100 miles, an engraved cannonball trophy for the Last Man Standing winner, and top three awards in several divisions. The event is rain or shine; refunds are not offered but optional race insurance and bib transfers via UltraSignup are available. Volunteer time can be exchanged for race entry discounts.
