Canaan Valley Trail Run

Canaan Valley Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Canaan Valley State Park. The race takes place on the Promised Land Trail and starts and finishes directly behind Canaan Valley Resort. The event offers two distance options:

  • 5.9 mile one-loop course
  • 11.8 mile two-loop course

Each 5.9 mile loop has approximately 350 feet of elevation gain. The field is limited to 200 participants. Awards include prizes for the top three male and female finishers in both distances and age-group awards for both distances. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, 6/20 from 6 to 8 pm at McClumsy, 284 East Avenue, Thomas, WV; race-day packet pickup details are tentative and will be confirmed to participants. All participants receive a McClumsy T-shirt, an event-specific handmade local finisher medal, post-race snacks, and beer for those 21 or older. Start, finish, and parking are located at Canaan Valley Resort. Lodging options are available within a ten-minute drive, including the host resort with a lodge, spa, and cabins near the finish line and additional options in nearby state parks and towns.
