The event takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, Olive St. Trailhead (3 West Olive St, Scranton, PA 18508). It includes the following distances:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Fun Walk (untimed)
Logistics and proceeds
Registration for each event is listed at $25 and closes October 23, 2025 at 11:59pm EDT. Day-of registration and packet pick up are scheduled for October 25 from 7:45 to 8:45 AM. Participants who register by September 30 will receive a race t-shirt. Raffle tickets will be available and raffle winners will be announced along with the race top finishers.
Awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers and to the top three males and females in these age groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Donors of more than $250 received by October 1 will be recognized on the race shirts. All proceeds will go to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), an organization that funds research into type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune condition in which the pancreas stops producing insulin. The event is held in honor of the organizer’s daughter, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2023. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
