Calico Trail Run
The Calico Trail Run is an annual trail race scheduled for Sunday, January 24, 2027. The event takes place at the Historic Calico Ghost Town and the Calico Mountains in California and is a USATF sanctioned event.

The course runs through a historic silver mining area and desert mountain terrain associated with the Calico Mining District. The site is described as rugged and scenic, combining remnants of mining history with natural desert landscape.
Calico Ghost Town was founded in 1881 as a silver mining town. Silver production declined in the late 1890s when the metal’s market value fell, and borax mining became important in the early 1890s. Mining activity continued into the early 20th century. The town was purchased in 1950 and later donated to the County of San Bernardino in 1967; it has since functioned as a county regional park dedicated to preserving the town’s history.
The organizing group operates as a nonprofit focused on promoting education about the Mojave Desert and providing resources to underprivileged communities interested in learning about the desert environment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
