Bryce Canyon Ultra Marathons : Hatch, Utah
The Bryce Canyon Ultra Marathons take place at Lucky 7 Ranch near Hatch, Utah, with courses that run around the northern half and along the western edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The trail routes pass above and below the hoodoos and use mostly single-track through high-elevation terrain. Most miles fall between 7,000 and 9,000 ft and the course is described as technical, so runners are advised to carry a headlamp for low-light sections.
Distances offered:
- 100 Mile
- 50 Mile
- 60K
- 50K
- 30K
- Half Marathon
Aid station support varies by distance; examples from prior years include multiple full aid stations and separate water-only stations (for example, the 100 mile has had 15 full aid stations plus 6 water-only stations). Crew and pacer access is restricted by distance: some ultras allow pacers and crew, while shorter distances do not permit support. Drop bag procedures, timing checkpoints, and strict cutoff policies are used on course. The event provides an on-site expo and bib pickup the day before the race.
Camping at Lucky 7 Ranch is primitive and located adjacent to Race HQ. Potable water dispensers, porta-potties, a paid shower service, and first-come first-choice campsite selection are available. Open wood fires are not permitted; propane stoves and contained fire pits are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
