Broome International Airport Marathon
The Broome International Airport Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 5 July 2026 at Cable Beach in Broome, Western Australia. The event takes place during the region's dry season when tide conditions allow firm, hard packed sand for running. Organisers select the date to align with suitable tide times.
Race distances offered:
- 42.2 km - Four laps from Cable Beach to Gantheaume Point.
- 21.1 km - Two laps from Cable Beach to Gantheaume Point.
- 10.5 km - One lap from Cable Beach to Gantheaume Point.
Drink stations are located approximately every 5 km on the hard packed sand, including at the Gantheaume Point turn and the Cable Beach start and finish area. Cups of water, electrolyte drink and bottles of water are supplied at aid stations. Bins are provided at all drink stations and competitors are required to place used cups in the bins.
Race numbers and race packs are collected the day before the event at Cable Beach behind the Surf Club. Post race presentations are held on Cable Beach at the start and finish area. Event terms and race rules are provided in downloadable documents. The marathon is supported by the Western Australia Government through Tourism WA and Royalties for Regions.
