BROKEN GOAT - July 18, 2026
Broken Goat is a set of high-alpine trail races based at Red Mountain Resort near Rossland, British Columbia, held on July 18, 2026. The event features multiple distances on remote mountain trails.
Distances:
- 50 km (7 Summits high alpine traverse - ascent 2492 m, descent 2906 m)

The 25 km and 50 km courses are point-to-point traverses that travel along high ridge lines; runners must be self-supporting until the first remote aid station. Aid stations are cupless, so participants must carry their own cup or hydration system. Aid stations also act as mandatory checkpoints.
Mandatory equipment and minimum supplies:

- 12 km runners must carry at least 1 litre of fluids and 200 calories of food. Random gear checks will be performed and missing mandatory items can result in disqualification.
Additional details: drop bag access is provided for the 50 km at specific aid stations, shuttles are used to reach some start locations, and the kids race donates its proceeds to the Canadian Mental Health Association (Georgia's Wish). Completion of required waivers is mandatory for participation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
