Breakneck Point takes place Sunday, May 3, 2026, at University Settlement Camp (30 Cp Lp Rd), Beacon, NY. The event offers two distances with approximate elevation change as listed by the organizer:
- Half: ~14.5 miles, ~4,800 ft gain/loss
- Full: ~26.4–26.5 miles, ~9,000 ft gain/loss
Entrants receive race entry, post-race food, a Patagonia Cap Cool shirt (style varies by gender), and a finisher item. Route maps and downloadable GPX files are provided by the organizers.
Course and safety
The course covers jeep trails, single-track, historic estate paths, and winding technical trail. It includes several steep and exposed pitches, including a signature climb at Breakneck Point that may require use of hands on some sections. The organizer warns of significant risk on this terrain and states that participants should be seasoned and prepared for technical, steep footing and large elevation changes.

- Half: Cold Spring (~7.3 miles)
- Full: Cold Spring (~7.3 miles), University Settlement Camp (~14.4 miles), Sunnyside (~19.8 miles)
Aid station provisions include Tailwind, water, Coke, gels (while available), pretzels, cookies, fruit, and peanut butter/jelly. Crew support is allowed only at official aid stations; no pacing by crew. Full entrants may leave drop bags at University Settlement Camp. Informal camping is available on site (first come, first serve). Capacity is set at 550 entrants. The event has a no-refund policy; distance switches and roll-overs have organizer-defined conditions.
