Breakneck Point Trail Runs

Beacon, United States • 3 May 2026

The Course

The proposed course covers jeep trails, single-track, historic estate paths, and winding single-track. It features several steep climbs and descents with significant elevation gain and loss per mile. The signature climb, Breakneck Ridge, is steep, exposed, and technical, requiring the use of hands at points. The terrain presents significant risk with technical stretches of footing and exposure. The course offers panoramic river and mountain vistas and runs on historic single-track. A link to a course map and track files is available on the event website.

The event offers two distances: 42K and 21K. Open registration is set for 550 total entrants across both distances. A waitlist is maintained, with an estimated 50 individuals being moved from it prior to the event.

Registration Details

Registration includes the race, aid stations, and post-race food. Entrants also receive a race shirt. A portion of each entry fee is donated to the Hudson Highlands State Park and the New York New Jersey Trail Conference. The event has a no-refund policy. Entrants may switch distances if space is available. Roll-overs to future years may be granted if notified more than 30 days before the event.

Additional Information

Informal camping is available on-site on Saturday night on a first-come, first-served basis; this is an add-on during registration. The use of poles is not recommended due to the technical, hands-on climbing required on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
