Breakneck Point : Overview

- 14.5 Miles (Half) with approximately 4,800 ft of elevation gain and loss.
- 26.4–26.5 Miles (Full) with approximately 9,000 ft of elevation gain and loss.
Open registration capacity is set to 550 total entrants between the two distances. Camping is available informally at Settlement Camp on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course, aid, and race rules
The course uses jeep trails, single-track, historic estate paths, and technical stretches. It includes steep, exposed sections at Breakneck Point that require use of hands in places and present significant elevation change. Organizers note the terrain is technical and suited to runners who are prepared for steep, exposed, and rocky conditions.
Aid stations:
- Half: Cold Spring (~7.2–7.3 miles).
- Full: Cold Spring, University Settlement Camp (~14.4 miles), Sunnyside (~19.8 miles).
Aid station provisions include Tailwind, water, Coke, Huma Gel (while supplies last), pretzels, cookies, fruit, and peanut butter/jelly. Crew support and pacing are allowed only within official aid station locations; receiving support outside those locations may lead to disqualification. Full marathon entrants may leave drop bags at the University Settlement Camp aid station. The event enforces course cut-offs (half course cutoff: 7 hours; full marathon cutoff: 11 hours) and additional aid station cutoffs. Shirts and a finisher item are included with entry.
