Black Spur Ultra

Black Spur Ultra takes place in Kimberley, British Columbia on August 22 and 23, 2026. The event is hosted at Kimberley Alpine Resort, with trail access directly from the resort and the edge of town.

The course follows winding, technical single track with no pavement and significant climbs through rugged mountain terrain. Kimberley sits between the Purcell and Rocky mountains and offers an extensive trail network accessible from town.

• 54k
• 21k (Half Marathon)
• Relays for 108k and 54k

Team options allow up to six runners for the 108k and teams of two or three for the 54k. The 108k solo course is a qualifier for Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc. Registration is capped at 500 racers and the registration deadline is August 17, 2026 or when full.

The transition area is located at Kimberley Alpine Resort; solo runners and teams may use a drop bag there. The transition area is staffed and supplies drinking water and snack food. Each stage has one staffed aid station located roughly at the halfway point. Support crews are not required but may meet runners at the transition area; crews should not meet runners at aid stations.

Participants receive a high quality tech or cotton shirt, entry to the awards ceremony and post race meal, complementary race photos, live timing and tracking, and medical support from EMTs and paramedics. Solo finishers receive a Black Spur and relay finishers receive a custom medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
