Black Spur Ultra

The Black Spur Ultra takes place in the Rocky Mountains in Kimberley, British Columbia. The event is hosted at the Kimberley Alpine Resort, which provides immediate access to an extensive network of single and double track trails. The course features technical winding single track through rugged mountain terrain with no pavement sections.

The event offers several distance categories:

  • 108 km solo or relay (teams of up to 6)
  • 54 km solo or relay (teams of 2 or 3)
  • 21 km (Half Marathon)
  • Kids Race

The 108 km race includes an elevation gain and loss of 4,460 m, while the 54 km option features 2,230 m of gain and loss. For solo participants, the race serves as a qualifier for the UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) and is a Trail Sisters Approved event.

The registration is capped at 500 racers. The race structure utilizes a central transition area located at the Kimberley Alpine Resort, allowing support crews to meet their runners in a single location throughout the event.
