Billy Goat Mountain Climb is scheduled for April 4, 2026, near Silverado, California, in the Cleveland National Forest. The Start/Finish is on Maple Springs Road next to the creek, near Lost Woman Canyon (33°45'13.2"N 117°33'33.6"W). Runners will be shuttled from a roadside lot a few miles away; the 2026 shuttle location is not yet determined. Registration closes on April 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.

- 1/2 Marathon - out-and-back climb following Maple Springs Road and truck trail
- 10K - follows half marathon route, turnaround at Dead Man's Curve
Course and support
The half marathon begins on Maple Springs Road, follows the creek on a worn asphalt road for about 1.5 miles, then continues on a dirt truck trail with switchbacks toward Dead Man's Curve and Four Corners, turning near N. Main Divide. The 10K turns around at Dead Man's Curve, about 1.5 miles up the truck trail. Aid stations with water, electrolytes and light calories are planned at these approximate locations:
- Silverado Loop: Mile 5 (Bedford Peak), Mile 8 (Bald Peak), Mile 10.5, Mile 13.5 (Dead Man's Curve)
- 1/2 Marathon: Mile 3 (Dead Man's Curve), Mile 6.55, Mile 10 (repeat of Mile 3)
- 10K: Mile 3 (Dead Man's Curve)
There are cut-offs requiring the Silverado Loop to reach the Mile 10.5 aid station by 10:30 AM and the half marathon to reach the Mile 6.5 aid station by 10:30 AM. Early starts are available with race director approval for slower runners.
Entry and policies
Early bird pricing through September 30, 2025: Silverado Loop $100, 1/2 Marathon $90, 10K $80. Beginning October 1, 2025: Silverado Loop $120, 1/2 Marathon $110, 10K $100. Race day entry includes a race shirt, finish line snacks and refreshments, a finisher medal, and awards for the top three overall finishers. The race does not offer refunds; entries may be applied to the following year's race if the event is canceled for reasons such as fire or government restrictions.
