Course and event details

The race starts and finishes at Coffenbury Lake at picnic shelter "C" and uses the park's hiking and biking trails. Much of the route is on asphalt paved trails and is described as flat; the last couple of miles around Coffenbury Lake are on trail and are generally rolling and light-technical. The route passes through two underpasses and over a bridge within the park.

The Ruck Challenge follows the US Army ruck march standard: 12 miles with a 35-pound pack (base weight, no food, water, ammo) and must be completed in around or under three hours. Fort Stevens State Park features beachcombing, freshwater lake swimming, trails, wildlife viewing, a historic shipwreck, and a historic military area.
