The Barrier Island Ultra is an eco trail race held in Port Aransas, Texas, on November 8, 2025. It is organized by Ultra Expeditions and is part of the Texas Trail Running Eco Series - Eco Challenge. Course and logistics

The course runs along the Gulf of Mexico on sand. Footing is primarily on hard-packed sand, with options closer to the road on softer sand. The organizer rates the course difficulty as 2 (easy to moderate) with little to no elevation change. Races are marked with in-ground flagging and directional signage; maps and a course PDF are provided.

Aid stations are located approximately every 3-5 miles and are stocked with basic first aid, electrolytes, beverages, and snacks. This is a cupless event; participants should use refillable bottles for aid station refills. Packet pickup occurs before race day and on race day. Beach or park entrance and parking fees may apply and are not included in race registration. Camping is available at Mustang Island State Park; beach camping requires a permit.
