The Barrier Island Ultra is scheduled for November 8, 2025 in Port Aransas, Texas, on Mustang Island. The event offers multiple distances on the beach fronting the Gulf of Mexico:

The start and finish are at the Port A Beachlodge. The race is part of the Texas Trail Running Eco Series Eco Challenge. Registration remains open until the start of each distance unless the race is sold out. A runner may change their entered distance up until the official race start; changes after the start are recorded as a DNF.

Course and logistics

The course runs along the Gulf of Mexico on sand. Runners may encounter hard-packed sand near the water and softer sand nearer the road. The route is out-and-back, marked with in-ground flagging and directional signage. Aid stations are located approximately every 3-5 miles; they include food, electrolytes, basic first aid supplies, and unmanned refill points. This is a cupless event; participants should bring refillable water bottles for refills at aid stations.

Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the Beach Lodge. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by October 19, 2025. All finishers receive a custom medal; first-place male and female in each distance receive awards. Parking or park entrance fees may apply separately.
