Badass Human Race - Downtown El Paso

The Badass Human Race takes place in Downtown El Paso on May 31, 2026. Presented by GECU, the event is a 3 mile obstacle race featuring more than 15 obstacles and lists 3,500 athletes. Obstacles and the route are subject to change.

Course elements include named challenges such as Barricades, Farmer’s Carry, Box Jumps, Dead Ball Drop, Sled Zone, Rope Climb, Salmon Ladder and The Cold Plunge, among others. The Cold Plunge is noted as returning for 2026. Mile markers for many obstacles are provided along the route.

Event flow and safety measures have been refined for 2026. The race uses assigned wave start times and trained captains supervise each obstacle. Safety mats are placed under fall-risk obstacles, clear instructions are posted at challenges, and optional bypass routes are available where applicable.

Support and on-course services include multiple water stations, pre-start hydration access, a recovery and refresh zone with ice and cooling areas, and free water at the finish. Entertainment and onsite offerings include live DJs, fitness challenges, health and wellness vendors, and food trucks with nearby downtown restaurants and bars.

Registration options listed include General Admission, V.I.P. Experience and Team Registration. Team discounts apply once a team reaches ten racers, with a $5 rebate per team member and the requirement that all team members run in the same wave.
