Australian Outback Marathon : 25 July 2026
The Australian Outback Marathon is a set of running events held in Central Australia with views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The course runs largely on private land and consists mostly of unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft sand trails, with a few small sand dunes and a couple of short inclines. The route passes through the region often called the Red Centre.

Age and cut-off information
- Marathon minimum age 18 years; half marathon minimum age 15 years.
- Marathon and half marathon cut-off time 8 hours.
- The 11KM and 6KM events are open to all ages.
Packages and inclusions Several multi-day packages are available, ranging from the Red Earth package (3 days / 2 nights, from $1150) to the Platinum package (6 days / 5 nights, from $2195). Packages include guaranteed race entry, accommodation for the specified nights, return transfers between Connellan (Ayers Rock) Airport and hotels for scheduled flights, selected meals, race day transfers, finishers medal and certificate, and race photography. Specific inclusions and exclusions vary by package. Race entry is only available as part of a package and cannot be purchased separately.
Community and cultural engagement The event provides free entries to Yulara Primary School students and sponsors three regional Anangu Pipalyatjara schools to attend with accommodation and meals included.
