Australian Outback Marathon
Yulara, Australia • 25 Jul 2026
Event overview
The Australian Outback Marathon is a running event held in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta region of Central Australia. The course runs largely on private land and offers direct views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Most of the route is on unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft-sand trails, with a few small sand dunes and a generally flat profile with a couple of inclines. The event includes community engagement programs that provide race entries to Yulara staff and free entries for all students at the local Yulara Primary School. The organisers also sponsor three schools from the surrounding Anangu Pipalyatjara area, including accommodation and meals for those students, and involve the Anangu Communities Foundation in event activities.
