The Australian Alpine Ascent is a trail running event held in Kosciuszko National Park with an edition scheduled for 14 February 2026. The event is based around Perisher Valley and The Stables Resort Perisher and features multiple trail distances across alpine terrain and variable mountain weather.
Distances offered:
- 80 km trail run that reaches the top of Australia
- 55 km trail run focused on extended mountain terrain
- 27 km trail run through the Snowy Mountains
Event delivery and services include aid stations on all courses stocked with water and energy drink, timing chips with results on event day, post-event snacks and recovery nutrition, and a finisher medal. The event is presented as a professionally managed festival with a dedicated event crew, merchandise such as hoodies and caps, and various draw prizes and sponsor products. Traffic management is provided at major intersections and some routes may have restrictions or closures subject to local authority approvals.
