ANC Critter Crawl Yeti Dash

Event

The Alabama Nature Center (ANC) will host the Critter Crawl 5K and Yeti Dash on February 21, 2026, at Lanark in Millbrook, Alabama. Both events are trail runs that use a portion of the ANC’s 5 mile trail system and benefit ANC education programs. Race activity begins and ends at the ANC NaturePlex.

Distances:

• 5 km (Critter Crawl 5K)
• 1 mile (Yeti Dash)

The Yeti Dash requires participants to wear nature or critter costumes. Participants who do not wear a costume are not eligible to win a Yeti Dash medal. One medal will be awarded to the first place finisher in each age group category.

Logistics

Online registration has closed, but day-of walk-up registration is available. Published fees:

• Pre-register: Critter Crawl 5K $25, Yeti Dash $20
• Day-of registration: Critter Crawl 5K $30, Yeti Dash $25

Shirts are guaranteed for participants who register before January 31, 2026. Packet pickup is available the day before the race (Friday, February 20, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm), and the course will be open that afternoon for preview. Event amenities include music, food, vendors, a door prize giveaway, and a trophy ceremony. Parking will be in the pavilion meadow. The ANC enforces a no-pet policy for this event, except for service aid dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
