Roll of the dice
Roll of the dice is a random-distance trail race held in Wetumpka, AL at the Boat Ramp Road trailhead. The course is a single loop of smooth, runnable dirt singletrack of about 3.12 miles. At the start a dice roll determines how many laps each participant will run, so the total race distance is decided on race day and may be short or long. Competitors must use whatever gear they have on them at the start.
Aid and facilities are concentrated at the loop start and finish. The single aid station is cupless and will provide water and electrolytes; participants must bring their own container for hydration. Runners may stop at a parked vehicle or a personal aid station between laps. Restrooms are available in the parking lot adjacent to the trailhead. Pizza will be provided at the finish.
Race policies note that refunds are not available. The absolute cutoff for the event is six hours after the start; organizers may shorten the cutoff if the rolled distance is considerably shorter. The event is planned to proceed in rain or shine, and no makeup date will be scheduled if weather forces a cancellation.
