The 12 Hours of Sunlight is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado (10901 County Rd 117, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601). Course, gear and logistics

The event uses the Sun King uphill route, described as a 1.3 mile climb with an 1,800-foot vertical gain per lap. Competitors ski uphill, skin up, then ski down each lap. Required equipment includes a headlamp, a helmet, and downhill-rated skis or a split-board; helmets are mandatory for all downhill segments. Snowshoes and uphill-only skis are not allowed.

Bib and gear pickup is available at Sunlight Ski & Bike in downtown Glenwood Springs on the day before the race and at the Sunlight lodge on race morning. The start/finish area will have a hydration and fueling station. Drop bag zones will be available both outdoors at the start/finish and indoors at the lodge, approximately 250 feet from the start/finish. Food, drinks, and awards are provided at the lodge after the event. Minors must have a parent, coach, or guardian present for the entire race.
