1000 Strong Overcoming Obstacles 5K

Restoration House Ministries organizes a trail event at Patriot Park in Victoria, Texas. The course combines permanent structures, pop up challenges, and mud pits. The obstacles are used for health, well being, and competition and serve as a symbol of overcoming obstacles within the community. All proceeds benefit Restoration House Ministries and support programs for young people and people experiencing homelessness.

The path is on and off road and is considered a trail run. The course is accessible by foot year round and is mowed starting in February. Event day will include health and wellness vendors and food trucks. Early packet pick up is available the night before at a local resale shop, with a small store discount for attendees. The t shirt deadline is March 30.

• Obstacle 5K

Racers in the obstacle category receive a paper wristband at check in. Some obstacles include a pressure wall and monkey bars; teammates may assist. Participants may skip an obstacle by performing 20 burpees or by surrendering their wristband to the obstacle volunteer. Teams must finish together to be eligible for certain team awards. The first three finishers in adult and youth divisions for each category will be recognized at closing ceremonies. Spectators are welcome and should bring a camp chair.
