Great Barrow Challenge - Day 1
This entry is for Day One of the Great Barrow Challenge, an individual day entry hosted at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. Day One uses the Denham Flats route, a 10.4 km out and back from the campsite that is run entirely on road. The route turns around at about 5.2 km and retraces to the start. Elevation change is modest, with about 22 m of climb, a high point of 107 m and a low point of 89 m.
Distances available on the day:
- 5 km
- 10.4 km one loop
- Half Marathon two loops
- Marathon four loops
- Ultra four loops plus a 5 km turnpoint or five full loops
Those completing 5 km use a 5 km turnpoint and return to the centre. Parking is included in the entry price. The Race HQ and base camp are located at the start and lap point, and a water and aid station is available there. Bespoke medals are issued at the end of each race day. The event is cupless so participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. No dogs or buggies are permitted on this route because roads are open to traffic. Headphones are not permitted except bone conductor types. A GPX file for the course is available from the course tab.
