About the race

Warrior Trail Foundation presents a set of multi-distance trail events based in Pennsylvania around Lock Haven and Woolrich. The series includes the long-distance Dark Sky 220, the Cherry Springs 110 and the Wooly 50K, operating from a base in a historic home in Woolrich that serves as an operations hub and crew space. All proceeds support trail running events and professional coaching scholarships for veteran athletes on the WTF Athlete Team; the foundation is a registered 501(c)(3). Virtual options are available for all distances and can be completed anytime by year end.

An AZ campaign offers a special virtual route modeled on a public-accessible portion of the Cocodona 250 course in reverse from Flagstaff to Crown King; that campaign is limited, unsupported, and carries a $1000 fundraising minimum. Runners can choose among supported, self-supported, unsupported, or team entry styles. Course materials include a GPX file hosted on Caltopo. The courses report substantial elevation: the 220 mile route has over 40,000 feet of ascent and the 110 mile route nearly 20,000 feet.

Water sources are described as plentiful along the course. Registration requires a $22 donation per person, a suggested fundraising commitment (total suggested fundraising $300, with different suggested amounts for some options), and completion of registration questions and a waiver. Actual start and finish locations are subject to permit changes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
