Winter Canal Canter
The Winter Canal Canter takes place along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal at Wyther Lane, Kirkstall, Leeds LS5 3BT. The route is an out and back course on flat, good trail surfaces that run beside lakes and canal paths.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. The course is marshalled and signed. Feed and drink stations are provided approximately every three miles and aim to operate without single use cups. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and additional treats. Bibs are issued on the day at registration and toilets and registration are located next to the canal.
Safety notes from the organiser include a ban on large over ear headphones; bone conducting or one in one earphones are permitted. There may be unmarshalled road crossings. Participants are expected to notify the nearest marshal if they are injured, struggling, or wish to retire.
Travel and parking information notes that there is no parking at the start and finish, local parking is available, and parking at Kirkstall Morrisons is a short walk from the start area. The closest train station is Headingley served by Northern services.
