Wine & Country Run
The Wine & Country Run is a cross-country running event held on October 17, 2026, at Hampton Roads Vineyard & Winery in Elberon, Virginia. The event supports Surry County Public School Athletics and involves a scenic 5K course through Virginia countryside.
Available race options include:
- 5K (3.1 miles) cross-country course
- Kid’s Run for participants up to 12 years old
Entries are offered in multiple competitive categories, with awards for the top three finishers male and female in the Open Category, Ages 12 to 20, and the Kid’s Race. Participants may run, walk, or jog. Each athlete receives a commemorative T-shirt, a wine glass with a complimentary pour (non-alcoholic for those under 21), a race bib collectible, and a finishing medal. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register prior to October 1. Same-day or walk-in registration carries an additional $5 fee.
Pricing listed for the event:
- Adults 21 and over: $40
- Young adults ages 12 to 20: $25
- Kid’s Run up to 12 years old: $15
Surry County school staff, alumni, and students receive a $5 discount; the winery provides the discount code before registration. Volunteers receive a T-shirt and a glass with a complimentary pour. Results are published online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
