Snowy Owl 10 Mile - January 3, 2027
Snowy Owl 10 Mile is a trail race held in York River State Park in Williamsburg, VA on January 3, 2027. The event is organized by Happy Cat Events and covers a 10 mile course that combines technical single track, dirt fire roads, one short paved section, and about 1 mile of road.
The course includes roughly five miles of technical single track, rocky sections, twisting trail, a boardwalk with views, and fast fire roads. Total elevation gain is about 600 feet and some rolling sections are noted as more demanding. The final segment is a paved downhill to the finish at the playground picnic shelter.
Race logistics note three aid stations offering water and light snacks such as gels and fruit; hot coffee and cocoa are available at the finish while supplies last. Packet pickup is available on race morning only. There is a four hour cutoff for the course. The event supports AWARE, who will be onsite with owls and educational information. Official results including overall and age groups are posted on UltraSignup and finishers receive a medal. This edition is presented as a no frills event: finisher services and basic support remain, while hats and T shirts are not included by default and must be added separately; availability of apparel is limited and there is a stated deadline to order.
