Wildwood Trail Marathon : December 5, 2026, Wildwood, MO
The event is a trail running festival organized by Terrain Trail Runners at LaSalle Springs Middle School, 3300 Highway 109, Wildwood, MO. The 2026 edition marks the event's tenth year and offers three distances:
- Marathon, roughly 26.2-ish miles
- 1/2 Marathon, roughly 13.1-ish miles
- 10K out-and-back, approximately 3 miles out and 3 miles back
Course surfaces include paved greenway, crushed gravel, dirt, and about 90 percent single track for the longer distances. The marathon route features rocky and rooty sections and an approximate elevation gain of 1700 ft. The half marathon records about 750 ft of elevation gain. The 10K follows paved and crushed-gravel paths and is described as nontechnical without rocks or roots.
Aid station support varies by distance: the marathon has three manned stations, the half marathon has two, and the 10K has one. Stations are stocked with water, Hammer Heed electrolyte drink, various Hammer gels, and fruit at the Sherman Beach aid station. Approximate spacing between aid stations is 5.5 miles, with no gap greater than about 7.5 miles. Restrooms are available at the start/finish; the marathon also lists restrooms at the Sherman Beach turnaround.
This is a cup-free, zero waste event. Runners must carry their own drinking receptacle; a reusable collapsible cup will be available for purchase for $5 cash. Race day onsite registration is offered for cash only, and guaranteed swag requires registration by September 27, 2026. The event participates in the Trail Mix Fund to cover registration fees for eligible applicants. Post-race food is catered and provided for runners only.
