About the race
Wildwood Trail Marathon is a trail racing event in Wildwood, MO organized by Terrain Trail Runners and held at LaSalle Springs Middle School, 3300 Highway 109. The event offers multiple distances and celebrates a tenth running anniversary in 2026.
Distances
- Marathon - trail course, approx 26.2-ish miles
- 1/2 Marathon - trail course, approx 13.1-ish miles
- 10K - out and back on paved and crushed gravel, about 3 miles each way
The marathon and half marathon courses link paved greenway, crushed gravel, dirt, and roughly 90 percent single track across local trails including the Hamilton-Carr Trail, Al Foster Memorial Trail, Bluff View Trail, Rock Hollow Trail, Cedar Bluff Trail, and Sherman Beach Trailhead. The marathon lists an approximate elevation gain of 1700 ft; the half marathon lists about 750 ft. The 10K follows mostly non-technical crushed gravel and paved surfaces with no significant rocks or roots.
Logistics note that the event is cup free; runners must carry a drinking receptacle. A reusable collapsible cup will be available at packet pick for $5 cash. Race day onsite registration will be accepted with cash only fees listed for each distance. Aid stations are manned and provide water, an electrolyte drink, Hammer gels, and fruit at Sherman Beach. Restrooms are available at the start/finish and at the Sherman Beach aid station. The race participates in the Trail Mix Fund to help cover registration fees for under-served runners.
