Wicked Rogaines Spring Series – Event 1
Wicked Rogaines Spring Series event 1 takes place at Victoria Park, Christchurch on 14 October 2026. The series runs across multiple dates in October and November 2026: 14, 21, 28 October and 4, 11 November.
The event is a rogaining format where teams navigate by map and compass on mostly off-road terrain around the Port Hills. Teams visit as many checkpoints as possible within the allotted time; checkpoints carry different point values based on difficulty and route choice is an important part of the competition. Travel is entirely on foot and terrain ranges from open farmland to hilly forest and tracks.
Competition options include timed events of:
- 2 hour
- 1 hour
- 1 hour Kids event
Teams generally consist of two or more members and some shorter-duration events may allow solo competitors. Competition categories cover gender classes (men, women, mixed) and age groups (open, junior, veteran, super veteran).
Required gear includes clothing and safety items; examples listed by the organiser are a waterproof jacket, good footwear, water, whistle, headlamp with batteries, one cellphone per team and one compass per team.
