White Peak Down in a Shot 10K
The Down in a Shot 10K is part of the White Peak Festival of Running, which also includes the Ian Milne White Peak Marathon and the Swift Half Marathon. The 10K joins the later stages of the marathon and half marathon routes, starting at Harborough Rocks and finishing at Cromford Wharf.
The races are off road on the White Peak Trails, run over compacted limestone and cinder surfaces on former railway tracks. Road running shoes are recommended. The later section used by the 10K undulates along the tops of the dales and then descends in stages to High Peak Junction; the route has a net descent of about 800 feet and contains no steep uphill stretches.

Registration and race headquarters are at Cromford Wharf, DE4 3RQ. Registration issues and bib collection take place at race HQ; bibs must be worn on the front. Coaches transport runners from Cromford Wharf to the race starts and are included with entry. There is no dedicated bag drop for the 10K, but runners may leave items inside the Gothic Warehouse at race HQ at their own risk. Finishers receive a medal, a race branded gift, water and a packet of biscuits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
