Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra
BC Athletics presents the 16th annual Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra, held at Whistler Olympic Plaza on Blackcomb Way in Whistler, BC, Canada on October 3, 2026. The event includes solo and team formats, packet pickup in Burnaby and Whistler, and fundraising activity that supports the Whistler Food Bank.
Race formats:
- 50 km solo: five 10 km loops; must be completed in under 9 hours and 30 minutes.
- 50 miles relay for teams of 8: each member runs one 10 km loop.
- 50 miles relay for teams of 4: each member runs two consecutive 10 km loops for 20 km.
The solo 50 km is described as a beginners ultra and the course design keeps runners within 5 km of the race site at all times. Team captains create teams and distribute access codes so members can register. Registration pricing and limited spots are displayed on the event platform, and a mandatory processing fee structure is noted.
Transfers are allowed between participants for a fee of CA$10 and must remain within the same sub-event; transfers must be completed by September 30. No refunds are offered by BC Athletics unless the optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program was purchased during initial registration. BC Athletics reserves the right to cancel or change the route for safety or other reasons; reimbursement policies vary by timing of cancellation.
