Westonbirt Lapped Ultra
The Westonbirt Lapped Ultra is a timed endurance event held at Westonbirt Arboretum in Tetbury, Gloucestershire GL8 8QS. Runners complete a 5 mile woodland loop through arboretum trails and aim to record as many full laps as possible within their chosen time category. Each completed lap must fall within the participant's event time to count; runners may stop to rest, refuel, and restart as needed.
Timed categories include:
- 3 hour event
- 6 hour event
- 12 hour event
Entries are accepted for solo runners or teams of up to three. The runner or team with the most laps within their selected time is declared the winner. Participants receive bespoke finisher medals and a distance achievement add-on that reflects the total distance covered.
The event provides two aid stations for on-course support: a mid-lap station approximately halfway around the loop, and an event village station at the lap start/finish and timing area. Both locations offer hydration and race-appropriate nutrition. On-site recovery services are provided by a team of physiotherapists and therapists to assist with massage, injury assessment, and post-event recovery.
Westonbirt Arboretum is described as a large collection of trees and shrubs spanning 600 acres with around 15,000 plants and 17 miles of paths, offering a forested setting for the lapped format. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
