Westcountry Ultra 100 Miler
Westcountry Ultra 100 Miler is a 100 mile point-to-point ultramarathon in Somerset held on 8–9 May 2027. The route combines the Flat 50 and Hilly 50 courses and features a total elevation of 9,538 ft. Runners have a 32 hour cut-off and the event operates a cupless policy, so competitors must carry at least one water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.
The course follows well-marked sections such as the Taunton to Bridgwater canal path, the River Parrett Trail, the England Coast Path and the South-West Coast Path, with additional markings where the route is less obvious. A GPX file is provided with race information. The route passes a wide range of Somerset features including limestone coastline, sea cliffs, two areas of outstanding natural beauty, the county’s highest hill and a recognised dark skies reserve.
There are 13 aid stations offering water, coke, squash, sandwiches, snacks and, overnight, some hot food options. Drop bags are permitted at the halfway checkpoint (small only). Pacers may join from the halfway point at West Somerset College; pacers and support crews are welcome but must respect local residents and parking. Tracking was introduced in 2025 and professional medical cover is provided; in an emergency the guidance is to call 999.
Entry fee is £110. Awards include trophies for first male and first female and medals for all finishers. A coach return from the finish to registration is available for an additional £3. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
