About the race
The Full Montycute 10 Trail Race is organised by Crewkerne Running Club and takes place on and around Ham Hill. The race is described traditionally as a hilly course of about 10.2 miles with ten climbs, but recent route plans may change the distance and climb count.
The organiser is reviewing a revised route and a new finish venue. Depending on the route chosen and path closures, the course length has been described as roughly 10.5 to 11 miles in planning notes; a club member measured one proposed variant at 10.6 miles with about 1,699 ft of elevation gain and eleven hills. The event has used the Ranger Station as headquarters in years when the new centre was not available and may use the new Ham Hill centre if it is ready.
Entries are managed through Race Nation; at times entries have closed with a waiting list available. The race operates a cupless policy, with competitors expected to carry a vessel for refill at the start and at three on-course drink stations. The route can be muddy in places and has been affected by path closures, landslides and tree felling at times. Parking arrangements have been adjusted around venue works, and the event has directed that dogs are not allowed on race day. Profits have been used to support club activities and local community projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
