Dark Skies Series Moonlit Meadow Run
The Dark Skies Series includes night trail running events across Somerset. One event in the series is the Moonlit Meadow Run at Longrun Meadow, Silk Mills and French Weir Park in Taunton. The listed 2026/27 dates for Moonlit Meadow Run are 14th November 2026 (rescheduled from February 2026) and 6th February 2027. Online entries close 6th November 2026 and 3rd February 2027.
The event offers two route options and a traffic free, flat course located about a 10 minute walk from Taunton town centre. The course uses meadow and parkland sections including a feature described as the Willow Cathedral.

- 5 km single lap course
- 10 km two laps of the 5 km course
Safety and equipment requirements are stated for winter night running. All entrants must wear a head or chest torch with at least 250 lumens. Trail running shoes are strongly advised. Runners under 16 must be supervised by an adult who keeps them in sight. Sixteen and seventeen year olds may run solo with parental consent. Dogs are not permitted to compete. Trained first aiders will be on site and around the route.
Facilities at the event hub include water provided at the hub and finish, toilets, and a cafe that may be open before and after the event. Wooden finisher medals are available as an optional extra and must be purchased up to eight days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
