About the race

The West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL) is a competitive cross-country running event held annually from November to February, featuring seven races. Exclusively for fully paid-up members of 16 affiliated clubs, participants compete for individual and team awards across various age categories. Each race covers a challenging 5 to 6-mile course, with chip timing introduced for the 2024-25 season.

The league emphasizes a strong community spirit among runners, with complimentary buffs for those completing five out of seven races. Participants must be fit and healthy, as the event does not provide water stations or changing facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
