About the race
The Watkins Family Championship is a club cross-country handicap over 6500 m held on private land on Watkins Road in Warrak. The course runs through bushland and around paddocks, finishing with an uphill approach to the house. The event is a club championship and includes a junior program with races over 1 km and 3 km.
Registration is available online or on the day. Adult entry on the day carries a $5 fee. There is a race safety briefing before the main event and a mass group start for the adult handicap.
Prizes include a sash and cash awards donated by the Watkins family with first place $100, second $50 and third $25. An additional $25 prize is offered to the first female who finishes fourth or lower. The handicap winner receives the Watkins Family Championship Perpetual Shield.
